Job summary

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a Financial Support Counselor to advise current and prospective students and families on financial aid processes, eligibility, costs, and planning. You’ll support inquiries via phone, counter, email, text, and social media, and participate in outreach and financial literacy efforts.

The role focuses on high-quality customer service and accurate financial advice, with regular campus interaction and collaboration with the Office of Financial Support

Qualifications

  • Meet with students and parents to counsel them on financial aid processes, aid eligibility, costs and financial planning.
  • Provide day-to-day customer service support via phone, front counter, email, text, social media, and face to face advising in the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships.
  • One year of financial aid experience or related higher education or customer service experience.

Position Summary

The Financial Support Counselor reports to the Assistant Director, Outreach and support and serves as a member of the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships customer service cluster. Primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to current and prospective students and their families, by way of, counseling appointments, phone, front counter, email, text, and social media. The Financial Support Counselor will meet with students and parents to counsel them on financial aid processes, aid eligibility, costs and financial planning. Responsible for various internal/external financial aid outreach activities and financial literacy efforts to include small/large group presentations
