Job description

The Financial Strategy Analyst – Senior leads financial modeling and provides analytical support for strategic growth initiatives, capital planning, construction projects, and ad-hoc analysis processes. Acting as a resource within the system and under limited supervision, this role offers decision support to management, conducts comprehensive analysis on complex projects or programs, performs internal valuations, and conducts financial due diligence on potential strategic investments.

This is a 100% remote position. Currently, we are unable to consider candidates from the following states: California, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, and Washington.

The analyst serves as a system expert on complex financial modeling, processes, and systems, providing project management and consultation for stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Executing defined projects related to routine and complex functions such as financial due diligence, modeling, strategic and capital planning.
  2. Preparing in-depth analyses to assess financial feasibility, trends, and risks, incorporating external economic factors, industry trends, and regulatory considerations.
  3. Reviewing and preparing analyses and valuations for strategic investments, acquisitions, and affiliations.
  4. Presenting and defending analyses and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
  5. Assisting in the preparation of professional reports and presentations for external audiences, senior management, and the Board.
  6. Providing expertise on financial systems and databases, including designing and testing complex queries.
  7. Mentoring other analysts and ensuring sound financial operations.

Skills required include decision making, proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting, valuations, report development, and project management.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, manage projects effectively, and communicate clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years of professional experience in financial analysis.
  • Master's degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes.
  • Experience in investment banking.

Physical Requirements: Regular visual and manual dexterity tasks, effective communication skills, and ability to operate a vehicle if required.

Location: Key Bank Tower, Salt Lake City, Utah

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.02 - 63.03, dependent on experience
