The Wisconsin Department of Corrections in Madison, WI is seeking a Records and Accounts Clerk responsible for maintaining resident monetary accounts, processing receipts and disbursements, and auditing balances to ensure accuracy.
The position offers a hybrid remote schedule after training, with typical hours 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and a starting wage of $22.76 per hour. A probationary period and background checks apply.
This position maintains accurate records of resident monetary account balances, processes receipts to and disbursements from resident accounts for designated correctional centers in the Wisconsin Correctional Center System (WCCS). This position also audits accounts as necessary to ensure accuracy of work; prepares and furnishes reports as requested and required.
This position is in pay schedule and range 02-11 with a starting pay of $22.76/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.
This position offers an optional hybrid remote work schedule, allowing potentially up to three days remote per week (after training is complete) based on work needs. Any remote work must be performed from Wisconsin. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt. Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
