GreenSpark is developing modern scrap yard software to help them follow the metal all the way through their yard, from point of purchase through to ultimate sale, all under one software roof. We are a B2B vertical SaaS company backed by top tier VC investors focused on disrupting the scrap metal industry. Our software facilitates easy scrap purchasing and sales, improves inventory tracking and customer relationship management, and saves time and money for yard owners and managers. Our vision is to improve recycling rates and keep more metal out of landfills through powerful, easy-to-use software.

Finance/Accounting Solutions Engineer Role:

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can drive finance and accounting excellence across sales, customer success, and product teams while serving as the company's foremost expert on financial operations and systems. This is an incredible opportunity to shape the future of financial products in the scrap metal industry, as you'll play a key role in bringing to market GreenSpark's revolutionary embedded accounting system and innovative payments/lending solutions. As an Finance/Accounting Solutions Engineer, you will be the company-wide authority on financial operations, working across sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure GreenSpark's finance capabilities meet our customers' needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Partner with the sales team as the technical finance / accounting expert to drive successful outcomes from complex deals
  • Map prospects' current accounting workflows to GreenSpark's capabilities
  • Demonstrate GreenSpark's financial functions including AP/AR, cash disbursements/application, and inventory management
  • Explain and showcase our integrations with major accounting platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, and Sage)
  • Partner with the product team to identify and scope new financial products

Customer Success Partnership

  • Collaborate with the customer success team to drive successful finance / accounting integration implementations
  • Provide expert training on GreenSpark's financial features and integrations
  • Guide customers through financial period closings using GreenSpark
  • Troubleshoot complex accounting scenarios with support and engineering teams
  • Develop documentation and best practices for financial workflows
  • Collaborate with customer success to identify and prioritize finance/accounting feature requests
  • Drive adoption of GreenSpark’s new financial products (payments/lending) to increase avg. contract spend per customer
  • Work closely with our product team to develop and launch of GreenSpark's in-house accounting system
  • Drive the strategy and implementation of game-changing embedded payments and lending solutions
  • Own the go-to-market strategy for new financial products, working closely with sales and marketing teams
  • Lead beta programs and work directly with customers to shape product direction
  • Contribute to the roadmap for GreenSpark's financial product suite
  • Create competitive differentiation through next-generation financial capabilities

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote (New York Preferred)

You'll be successful if you have:

  • Strong financial background and experience with major accounting software platforms
  • Technical aptitude and ability to understand complex system integrations
  • Experience in software implementation or solutions engineering
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional work ethic coupled with sound judgment

Experience:

  • 4+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in industry or software
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting software implementations
  • Track record of successful technical solution delivery
  • Experience in B2B SaaS environment preferred
  • Knowledge of payment processing and lending products a plus
