This position may be filled at one of two levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, and a Senior starting salary of $41,685.12.

Job Location: Sikeston, MO

Why you’ll love this position: The financial services technician provides routine administrative and paraprofessional support in financial services functions such as processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, benefits administration, payroll, consumable inventories, property damage claims, capital/fixed assets, internal billings, and time (payroll) and equipment reporting. Responsibilities include resolving routine issues and questions with a moderate degree of independence, while complex questions are referred to appropriate personnel. Tasks are performed under moderate supervision.

MoDOT will consider candidates at entry-level or senior level, based on skills and experience. This opening is for a CAREER-LADDER position, offering opportunities for career advancement without competitive interviews. As you learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, promotions to higher levels are possible.

  • Collects and sorts financial documents and supporting information; verifies correct accounting transactions and vendor info.
  • Reviews and processes expense vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and similar documents for accuracy and proper coding.
  • Debits, credits, and totals accounts in spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.
  • Classifies, records, and summarizes financial data to maintain records.
  • Prepares and issues bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial documents following established procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.

Special Working Conditions: May require occasional statewide overnight travel.
