Job summary

Oregon State Credit Union in Corvallis, OR is seeking a Financial Services Consultant I to help members build a solid financial foundation. You will open new membership accounts, advise on consumer lending, and guide clients through available products and services.

This role is heavily relationship-based with a focus on personalized service and strong communication. A background in customer service and willingness to learn are essential; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus with a language pay

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant customer service experience required with prior consulting, sales, and cash handling experience highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred; language pay differential may apply.
• Demonstrates strong aptitude to problem solve independently and resolve challenges using available resources.

Responsibilities

• Open new membership accounts and advise members on consumer lending needs.
• Educate members on products and services relevant to their situation and ensure follow-through to resolution.
• Handle basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals.
• Research inquiries and provide tailored financial solutions.
• Build and maintain strong member relationships to identify opportunities for service improvements.

As a Financial Services Consultant I, you will play a crucial role in helping our members build and maintain a solid financial foundation. This includes opening new membership accounts, consulting with members on consumer lending needs and educating them on available products and services relevant to their situation, researching inquiries and ensuring follow-through to resolution, and handling basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals. Our Financial Services Consultant role is heavily relationship-based with a strong focus on getting to know our members personally to better understand their needs and provide tailored financial solutions that are in their best interest. The ideal candidate has a strong consulting and customer service background, a collaborative spirit and is passionate about helping others achieve their goals.

What you will need to be successful

• At least one year of relevant customer service experience required with prior consulting, sales, and cash handling experience highly preferred
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Positive attitude and proven ability to drive sales through excellent service
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively required
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred. Candidates who demonstrate proficiency in Spanish are eligible for a language pay differential
• Demonstrates strong aptitude to problem solve independently and resolve challenges using available resources
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time successfully

Work type: Full-time, On-Site and Non-Exempt
Schedule: Must be available for work Mon-Fri between the hours of 8 am and 6:15 pm

Compensation: $21-23/hr DOE + bonus and incentives. Language pay differential available for candidates proficient in Spanish
