About the Role

Arnold & Porter is seeking a mid‑level associate (2020‑2023) to join our Financial Services group in our New York or Washington, DC offices.

About the Group

Widely recognized for its legal services to US and international institutions, Arnold & Porter’s Financial Services Practice Group of more than 70 lawyers provides financial institution and fintech clients with comprehensive regulatory, litigation, legislative, and transactional services. The practice group handles complex regulatory and transactional issues, chartering and licensing, investigations, and administrative enforcement actions and represents clients in legislative matters related to the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

Provide regulatory and transactional support to clients, including chartering, licensing, investigations, administrative enforcement, and representation in legislative matters related to the financial services industry.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates have experience in bank regulatory, anti‑money laundering, consumer protection, fintech, chartering, or cryptocurrency matters and possess strong research, writing, and analytic skills, the ability to work independently and creatively, and the ability to work successfully as part of a team. All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references. Experience representing clients before or working at the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, FinCEN or state banking agencies is preferred.

License and Eligibility

Applicants must currently be licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the jurisdiction(s) where they apply.

Compensation

The salary range for this position in New York and Washington D.C. is $235,000 – $365,000, commensurate with experience. An hourly‑based bonus is available.
