It is what we do at Frontier Community Credit Union. We are looking for a service-oriented individual to fill ourFinancial Service Representative (FSR) position at our Leavenworth location. Role

Assist members with their financial needs by performing a variety of transactions regarding all share and loan products and services that support branch operations. Consistently provide an atmosphere of high-quality member service. Confidently support and meet credit union sales goals. Consult with members and provide solutions to match their needs beyond the initial reason for the application. Responsible for adhering to all credit union policies and procedures, deadlines and all applicable state and federal legal obligations and regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Serve members in opening new accounts, updating current accounts and closing accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, CDs, safe deposit boxes, IRAs and Fresh Start Repayment Loans. Assist members with routine account-related requests such as: funds transfers,automatic funds transfers (AFTs), stop payments, bank deposit products and service charges, ATM & Debit card usage and limits, checking and savings account transactions, funds availability, complete verification requests by third parties, ACH & Debit Card disputes, interest rates, VISA Gift Cards, internet banking including bill pay and mobile banking, wire transfers and check orders.
  • Analyze and process loan applications for both consumer type loans and credit cards. Obtain necessary documentation for each loan type and submit completed loan requests for approval. Review the terms and conditions of the approved loan and cross-sell opportunities or reasons for the turn down with the member. Ensure accurate loan processing by making sure each loan is properly documented, closed, and disbursed.
  • Recommend and explain credit union services and products to members and prospective members, based on their needs. Refer members to in-house financial experts for mutual funds and trust management, when necessary. Meet all sales goals, such as referrals, closed loans, other loan products sold - GAP and Warranty, and accounts opened. During down times, calling on current and prospective members to present and sell credit union services and products.
  • Facilitate IRA creation, roll overs, transfers, distributions and account closing. Research and resolve member queries and complaints even during escalated situations, acting as the liaison between other departments, when necessary.
  • Ensure and maintain excellence in front-line coverage to greet and assist walk-in members and potential members. Take over teller duties when needed, maintaining top quality in front-line coverage in areas such as balancing the vault and ATM, handling cash delivery and shipments and operating the drive-thru window.
  • Actively participate in training programs to maintain and acquire additional job knowledge and skills. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained. Work as a team member to allocate and coordinate workflow. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals. Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements

1. Provide prompt, professional, and appropriate service and support to all members, prospective members, and employees. Troubleshoot and resolve member inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Follow up with the member no less than the same business day and document the resolution. Inform supervisor of any potential or current issues.

2. Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of all products and financial services offered by the credit union. Effectively cross-sell financial products and services in conjunction with transaction processing, account opening, and loan closing. Meet monthly goals. Complete all assigned staff training assignments in a timely manner.

3. Produce timely and accurate loan and account documents, reports and computer input of information. Accurately process all transactions as specified on the member transaction request or other supporting documentation.

4. Strictly adhere to the credit union's policy and confidentiality, security, professional conduct and dress. Maintain current knowledge of all rules and regulations and perform at all times in compliance with laws and regulations relating to the positions of the branch and credit union.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • Education: A high school education or GED.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
  • Other Skills: Excellent service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, diplomacy, and analytical skills in dealing with both members and employees. The ability to make sound decisions. This may include making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the credit union's exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions. This position requires a perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, must be sensitive to credit union needs, member and employee goodwill, and the public image. Proficiency with computer equipment and programs, spreadsheets, processing software and other office equipment.

  • Work Environment: Work is performed largely in an office environment with moderate noise level. There may be occasions when the work environment is stressful.
