Job Summary:

Oversees all financial reporting functions including monthly financial reporting, construction accounting, Authority reporting and special projects and requests for information. Responsible for accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation of financial statements and statistical reports. Responsible for regulatory reports filed to regulatory agencies and keeping up to date with changing regulations affecting those cost report and other filings. Develops and updates policies and procedures. Manages analysts and clerical staff.

Job Duties:

  • Plans, manages, and oversees the accounting functions of the team members reporting to this position and redistributes or prioritizes work accordingly.
  • Reviews the work of the individuals reporting directly to this position. Provides direct reports with guidance, training, counseling and feedback, completes annual performance appraisals.
  • Ensures appropriate cross training of staff.
  • Coordinates interview process, interviews applicants, and selects candidates for employment.
  • Attends monthly financial results review meetings.
  • Maintains current understanding of and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and/or applicable other comprehensive basis of accounting.
  • Coordinates financial information requests from other departments and auditors.
  • Ensures staff maintains an in-depth knowledge of all mainframe and PC based systems, and related software including cost report software.
  • Assists with the maintenance and review of internal control process narratives and performs testing of key controls and attends meetings as needed.
