Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

LaSalle Network is partnering with a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar insurance and financial services organization that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Financial Reporting team based in downtown Chicago. This opportunity is perfect for a driven, detail-oriented professional who wants to expand their accounting knowledge across property & casualty, life, and health insurance sectors-with exposure to SEC, GAAP, and statutory accounting.

This client is open to candidates on a fully remoute basis outside of the Chicagoland area. Should local candidates apply, they will be required to be in the office 3x a week. Compensation for this role is up to a base of $100,000.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with operational departments on appropriate accounting treatments.
• Support both internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
• Present analytical schedules, explain variances, and respond to ad hoc internal inquiries.
• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with state filing requirements and other compliance deliverables.
• Handle additional duties and special projects as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• MUST have experience with bluebook reporting
• 3+ years of experience in financial reporting; insurance or financial services industry experience is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP); familiarity with US GAAP and SEC reporting is advantageous.
• Experience using Workday Financial Management or a large ERP system is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate skills across other MS Office applications.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across various levels of an organization.
• This role requires a hybrid schedule with weekly in-office presence in Chicago.
