Job summary

Mourant is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager in New Jersey to join on a 6-month contract. You will lead the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements, monthly consolidation, and clear reporting to drive business performance.

You will partner with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis to provide timely insights, MI and commercially focused support for decision making across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with accounting experience.
• Demonstrable commercial awareness.

• Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and entity-level statements.
• Monthly and annual consolidation of all group entities with clear reporting and commentary.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and insights.
• Develop MI and provide analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Partner with leaders to deliver timely, commercially focused financial support.
• Support use of financial technology to drive smarter working practices.
• Collaborate with wider Finance team to ensure seamless delivery; support board and audit reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasts and tax computations/returns.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join us on a 6-month contract. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you'll use your technical expertise to deliver high-quality financial reporting, build strong stakeholder relationships, and provide commercially focused insights that help drive business performance.You'll play an important role within our friendly in-house finance team, partnering with leaders across the business to support decision making and help drive future success.Within our team, you'll be working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis, you'll ensure financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful.If this sounds like the right next step for you or you'd like to know more, we'd love to hear from you.About the role• Preparation of the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and the financial statements of individual entities• Monthly and annual consolidation of all group entities, supported by clear reporting, analysis and commentary to support stakeholder understanding of trends and performance• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary and insights• Development of management information (MI), providing insight, recommendations and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions• Active business partnering with partners, senior managers and leaders, ensuring they receive relevant, timely and commercially focused financial support• Utilise existing, and participate in the effective implementation of, financial technology to generate smarter working practices• Professionally collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure seamless finance delivery, supporting the aim of making the Finance team overall easy to do business with• Working closely with key stakeholders, including leaders and other business services departments to prepare P+L reports, cashflow forecasts and annual budgets• Supporting board and audit reporting• Completion of tax computations and returnsAbout you· Qualified Accountant, with accounting experience.· Demonstrable commercial awareness· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and engaging way· Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with a collaborative and supportive approach· Experience using a practice management system such as Elite 3e, Viewpoint would be helpful but not essentialAbout MourantWe are proud to be a leading offshore law-firm led professional services business, advising many of the world's leading financial institutions, corporations, public organisations, private equity houses and investment funds, as well as ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices.We believe in inclusive workplaces where everyone feels seen, heard, valued and respected.
