Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced accounting and finance professional with strong consolidations reporting, US GAAP exposure, and experience working in the insurance industry, to join our corporate accounting team as a Financial Reporting Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, technical accounting matters and other related financial matters. You will be responsible for the oversight and research of all US GAAP related matters and serve as our point person during the annual audit.
Work location: This position is a fully remote position. There is a preference for candidates who reside in the Northeastern and MidAtlantic U.S. regions.
Professional Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of company’s consolidated financial statements and related reporting documents
- Determine the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist with month-end close procedures related to consolidating financial results
- Perform purchase accounting allocations, review 3rd party business valuations, and implement accounting processes for determining revenue recognition accrual in accordance with ASC 606
- Prepare and review accounting estimates including contingent liabilities
- Prepare and review audited financial statements, accompanying footnotes, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate and support the needs of external auditors in connection with the annual audit
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as assigned or required
Qualifications And Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant is required
- 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience in a public accounting firm, a consulting firm, or an insurance company
- Prior work experience involving business valuations, purchase accounting and application of ASC 606 (Revenue recognition)
- Experience in establishing previously undeveloped accounting and financial processes
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and within budget
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships, internal and external
- Ability to work independently and in a remote environment successfully
- Ability to travel to other company offices as required (minimal)
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 starting base salary plus a targeted bonus of 10%, depending on the candidate’s experience and region.
- A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
