Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America in Princeton, NJ seeks a Financial Reporting Technical Analyst to optimize reporting platforms and automate data flows. You will work across IT, Finance, Data and Actuarial teams to build Power BI dashboards, support SAC planning, and maintain TM1 and SAP-BO interfaces.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in data analytics or financial reporting, proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of data analytics, financial analysis, reporting, or related experience.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or data profiling tools.
• SQL, Python, R, Java, or similar languages preferred.
• Familiarity with TM1, EDWH, IRDW, FS-RI, SAP-BO, or similar systems.
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and reporting concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across IT, Finance, Data, Accounting, and Actuarial.

Responsibilities

• Support the flow of MRS NA financial data from policy administration systems to the general ledger and reporting warehouses.
• Assist IT and subject matter experts with maintaining and updating financial master data used for reporting processes and applications.
• Prepare financial data queries and ad hoc reporting outputs to support corporate reporting requirements, with guidance from senior team members.
• Participate as a Finance representative in cross-functional projects that support new reporting requirements or system implementations.
• Work with local and Munich-based staff to support SAC functionality for annual planning and quarterly forecast reporting and analysis.
• Assist IT staff with automated interfaces of key data used in consolidated reporting and monitoring of results.
• Support updates to calculation rules based on evolving or new reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance AFO / SAC reports to support analysis and results monitoring.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reporting infrastructure to support regular financial reports produced by MRS NA Finance, such as monthly expense reporting and business unit financial schedules.
• Coordinate with the Analytics team to align KPIs and ensure consistent formatting of reports for quarterly results monitoring.
