Job summary

Helmerich and Payne in Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to assist with external financial reporting and technical accounting support. The role reports to the Senior Manager of External Reporting and is onsite in Tulsa.

You will prepare SEC filings, respond to audit requests, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A CPA or CPA candidate and 1–3+ years in accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting.
• CPA or CPA candidate.
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting information; work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quarterly and annual SEC reports, including MD&A, using Wdesk.
• Assist with audit questions and prepare audit information requests.
• Prepare tie-out packages of external and internal reports.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Provide technical accounting assistance with special projects.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Other tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.

At a Glance:

• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting informationExcellent computer skills and able to effectively work and communicate in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Candidate must be self-motivated, take the initiative to accomplish work and take ownership of projects assigned

Not a must, but a plus

• Experience working with Wdesk
• Big 4 public accounting firm strongly preferred
• Experience in the oil field service industry strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Hyperion and Oracle preferred
