Job summary

PING, Inc. seeks a Financial Reporting Analyst to build and maintain financial reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and AI-assisted tools. You will validate outputs against source data to ensure accuracy and support leadership with clear insights.

Located in the Phoenix metro area, relocation assistance is provided. You will collaborate with finance and operations stakeholders, develop data models, and contribute to monthly and annual reporting cycles while advancing data platform

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics with at least two years of financial reporting or data analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build reports in Power BI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, recordkeeping, time management and teamwork skills.
  • Strong decision making, problem solving and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, proactive, data-driven with prioritization skills.
  • Experience with SQL and AI-assisted tools is valued; Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Build reports and dashboards from data models using Power BI, SQL, and AI-assisted tools for leadership and department managers.
  • Validate reports against source data to ensure accuracy and consistency of metrics.
  • Develop and maintain data models, queries, measures, and visuals; troubleshoot reports as needs evolve.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and data requests from management and other departments.
  • Identify and resolve data or report discrepancies found during building and validation.
  • Analyze outputs to explain drivers, trends, and variances in plain language.
  • Collaborate with managers to understand reporting requests and deliver on those needs.
  • Document reports, data sources, and metric definitions for knowledge base.
  • Support monthly management reporting and annual budget reporting cycles.
  • Develop understanding of the company’s data platform (Microsoft Fabric) and Infor M3.

Brief Description

PING, Inc. is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst that will build and maintain financial reports and dashboards. Working from data models using Power BI, SQL, and AI-assisted tools, the Financial Reporting Analyst delivers reporting for leadership and department managers and validates it against source data for accuracy and consistency. The role works closely with the manager and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and supports the team’s recurring reporting cycles. This position requires the candidate to reside in the Phoenix Metro Area, relocation assistance will be provided.

Duties
  • Build reports and dashboards from data models using Power BI, SQL, and AI-assisted tools, to support decision-making by leadership and department managers.
  • Validate reports against source data for accuracy and support the consistency of shared metric definitions so that reports tie to a single, consistent version of the data.
  • Develop and maintain data models, queries, measures, and report visuals; troubleshoot and improve existing reports as needs evolve.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and data requests from management and other departments, sourced from the data models.
  • Identify and resolve data or report discrepancies found while building and validating reports.
  • Analyze reporting output to explain drivers, trends, and variances, and summarize findings in plain language for the manager and business stakeholders.
  • Work with department managers and stakeholders to understand reporting requests, clarify requirements, and deliver reports that meet those needs.
  • Document reports, data sources, and metric definitions, contributing to the organization’s knowledge base.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles, including monthly management reporting and the annual budget reporting package.
  • Develop a working understanding of the company’s data platform (Microsoft Fabric), reporting tools, and source systems, including Infor M3.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field from a properly accredited college or university, plus a minimum of two years of experience in financial reporting, data analysis, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build reports in Power BI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, recordkeeping, time management and team skills with the proven ability to build consensus.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, proactive, process and data driven with an ability to prioritize multiple deadlines/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards, working with data models and queries. Proficiency in Power BI is required; experience with SQL and AI-assisted tools is valued.
  • Possess an intermediate level of computer literacy of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Enough financial and business literacy to understand the data being reported and validate that reports are accurate and consistent.
  • Collaborative and coachable, with a genuine curiosity about the “why” behind the numbers.
  • A data-driven mindset with strong attention to accuracy, consistency, and data quality.
  • To be successful, this position must develop a rapport with department managers and stakeholders across the business as well as the finance team.
