Job summary

Northwestern Mutual offers a College Financial Representative internship to learn prospecting, build a client base, and develop a business strategy while gaining access to exclusive financial planning resources.

You will be coached weekly, work with proprietary planning software, and have opportunities for full-time roles after graduation. Licensing support and flexible scheduling are part of the program.

Qualifications

• Be a full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and network to build your client base.
• Develop and execute on a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
