PowerSouth Energy Cooperative in the Alabama/Florida region seeks a Financial Planning Accountant II to support the annual operating budget, wholesale power rates, and a 20-year financial forecast. This role collaborates with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and strong analytical and communication skills to interpret reports and convey findings clearly in writing and speech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field is required.
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting reports and data.
• Communicate effectively through oral and written means.

Responsibilities

• Calculates, obtains and analyzes operating, maintenance and fixed costs for the annual operating budget to determine total cost of service.
• Analyzes billing data variables used in the annual wholesale power rate to ensure revenue recovery.
• Obtains and analyzes construction and capital expenditures for the annual budget to determine future cash flow needs.
• Analyzes projected operating, maintenance and fixed costs for long-range financial forecast.
• Analyzes billing data variables for long-range forecast to ensure revenue recovery.
• Assesses construction and capital expenditures for long-range forecast to determine future cash flow needs.
• Performs monthly analysis of financial statements to ensure margins meet targets.
• Completes special projects affecting financial impact for PowerSouth.
• Develops financial planning software as needed to improve efficiency.
• Promotes teamwork and professional standards across the organization.
