Job summary

Madison Professional Group represents a leading financial services organization seeking an experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join its wealth management and advisory platform. The FPS delivers proactive, personalized planning and integrated financial solutions to help clients reach their goals and progress toward retirement readiness.

This role focuses on deepening client relationships beyond annual reviews, working within a technology-enabled advisory model to cover retirement income

Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 required.
  • Insurance license(s) must be obtainable within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial services experience.
  • Experience working directly with clients in a financial planning, advisory, or wealth management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of investment management and financial planning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive financial planning conversations with clients.
  • Review client plans, portfolios, and goals to identify opportunities.

Job description

Our client, a leading financial services organization with a significant national and international footprint, is seeking experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join its growing wealth management and advisory platform. The Financial Planning Specialist (FPS) delivers proactive, personalized financial planning and integrated financial solutions designed to help clients make confident decisions and progress toward their financial goals.

A key focus of this role is deepening client relationships beyond the traditional annual or semiannual review cadence. FPSs proactively identify opportunities for additional planning conversations based on changing goals, life events, retirement decisions, tax considerations, portfolio strategy, and other financial priorities. Operating within a team-based, technology-enabled advisory model, the FPS works with clients across retirement planning, investment management, comprehensive portfolio strategy, tax-efficient planning considerations, estate planning needs, and broader wealth management objectives. This is a direct client-facing advisory role supporting clients who already have managed investment relationships with the organization.

A Day in the Life

Your day is centered around meaningful client conversations, proactive financial planning, and deepening existing relationships

You will work with an established base of clients. Your focus is not on building a book from scratch—it is on creating more frequent and relevant financial planning engagement

. Throughout your day, you may

  • : Prepare for and conduct scheduled virtual planning meeting
  • Review client financial plans, portfolios, goals, and recent activity to identify additional planning opportunities
  • Proactively reach out to clients rather than waiting for their next annual or semiannual review
  • Lead planning conversations around retirement readiness and income, Social Security, tax efficiency, estate planning, healthcare, college funding, cash flow, and other financial prioritize
  • Use financial planning and digital advice tools to model scenarios and develop personalized recommendations
  • Connect investment strategy to each client's broader financial plan and long-term objectives
  • Conduct thoughtful discovery to uncover changing needs, priorities, and life events
  • Coordinate with internal specialists when additional expertise is needed
  • Help move clients from planning conversation to implementation
  • Manage scheduled appointments, preparation, proactive outreach, implementation, and client follow-up
  • Maintain strong documentation and operational discipline within the organization's technology-enabled advisory platform

Required Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 required
  • Ability to obtain required insurance license(s) within 90 days of hire

  • Experience working directly with clients in a financial planning, advisory, or wealth management capacity
  • Strong understanding of investment management and financial planning principles

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus variable compensation, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Total compensation range with variable compensation target: $137,500-148,000.
