Job summary

South Jersey Industries is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial and analytical support for sales goals and strategic objectives. You will manage the department’s budgets, forecasts, and commissions, while leveraging BI tools to optimize sales performance.

The role requires collaboration with Sales Management, accounting, and major account teams, with emphasis on accuracy, timely reporting, and data-driven insights to inform business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years.
  • Two or more years’ experience in performing financial or operational analysis and reporting, in a sales environment is preferred.
  • Advanced to expert level Excel (including pivot tables and charts).
  • Exposure to using Business Intelligence dashboards to analyze and optimize performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and strong time-management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage annual financial plan and customer growth budgets and monthly forecasts with Sales Management.
  • Lead day-to-day management and forecasting of the department’s O&M accounts, including processing invoices, tracking expenditures, reconciling accounts, and explaining variances to Sales Management, accounting and financial planning.
  • Prepare and oversee monthly Sales commissions and monthly Sales Results Report on customer growth and margin performance.
  • Perform Sales’ accounting functions including: accruals, accounts payable and expense reports.
  • Compile and prepare information in response to data requests and/or regulatory reporting needs.
  • Assist Major Account Managers in rate/revenue calculations, large account billing analyses and service agreement preparation and communication.
  • Provide business analysis support to identify opportunities and positively impact growth while assisting in the continuous improvement of existing reporting processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
