Job summary

TBO Bank is seeking a motivated FP&A Analyst to support forecasting, pro forma analyses, and data-driven decision-making. The role emphasizes SQL proficiency, data trend interpretation, and collaboration with finance, risk, and treasury teams.

  • Strong SQL proficiency; experience with Python/Tableau/Power BI is a plus
  • Familiarity with banking metrics such as NIM, loan loss provisions, and CECL

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain forecasting models for income, expenses, and balance sheet.
  • Model loan portfolio performance, interest rate scenarios, and capital adequacy metrics.
  • Analyze key financial drivers and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Review external partnership models for accuracy.
  • Provide detailed profitability, efficiency, and productivity analyses.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on financial impact of initiatives and new products.
  • Ensure forecasts comply with banking regulations including stress testing.
  • Support regulatory reporting with accurate financial data.
  • Prepare and present dashboards and reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate with finance, risk, and treasury to align planning.
  • Use SQL to extract and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate on budgeting for divisions and bank-wide.

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A) Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making by developing robust forecasting models, building pro forma financial analyses for future initiatives, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance business performance. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, and the ability to identify and interpret complex data trends to provide actionable recommendations.

Duties/Responsibilities
Forecasting and Financial Modeling
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to project income, expenses, and balance sheet performance.
  • Model loan portfolio performance, interest rate scenarios, and capital adequacy metrics to support decision-making.
  • Analyze trends in key financial drivers and provide actionable recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Review external partnership models for accuracy and reasonableness.
Performance Analysis
  • Provide detailed financial analysis on profitability, efficiency, and productivity metrics across business units.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess financial implications of strategic initiatives and new product offerings.
Regulatory and Compliance Support
  • Ensure forecasts and models comply with applicable banking regulations, including stress testing and risk assessments.
  • Support regulatory reporting processes by providing accurate financial data and insights.
Collaboration and Reporting
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and board-level discussions.
  • Work closely with teams across finance, risk management, and treasury to align financial planning activities.
  • Utilize SQL to extract, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources, providing insights to inform business strategies (required).
  • Collaborate with budgeting process for divisions and bank wide.
Competencies
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis or planning, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis; experience with other data analysis tools is a plus (e.g., Python, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with banking-specific metrics such as net interest margin, loan loss provisions, and CECL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey financial findings to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education and Experience
