Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of FP&A to develop and refine financial analysis and reporting processes.
• Partner with leaders and operations to understand the business and identify improvement opportunities.
• Gather and analyze financial data with accounting to produce actionable insights.
• Develop key performance indicators to drive performance.
• Build and maintain Excel-based models for forecasting and reporting.
• Analyze monthly sales and monitor margin performance.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle.
• Review trends in revenues, costs and inventories; identify automation opportunities.

The Financial Analyst position will be responsible for providing financial analyses, recommendations, and support for Colonial Group and will act as a liaison between accounting and operations. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated employee who will be excited to learn about the business and grow with the finance department.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

• Work with the Director of FP&A in developing and refining processes to improve financial analysis and reporting across Colonial’s subsidiary companies.
• Partner with the leaders and operations teams to better understand the business.
• Partner with accounting to collect and analyze financial data turning it into actionable insights.
• Identify and/or develop key indicators impacting performance and results.
• Build and maintain models in Excel to support financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
• Closely analyze monthly sales and track margin performance.
• Support the continued development of the annual fiscal year budget and forecasting process.
• Review and analyze trends (revenues, costs, inventories, etc.)
• Identify areas to automate reporting and eliminate duplication.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree is required (finance, accounting, business, math, etc.)
• A working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, XLookup, etc)
• The candidate should be comfortable learning new software platforms; prior exposure to JD Edwards and Power BI is helpful but not required
• Verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
