Job summary

Jonah Energy LLC is seeking an FP&A Analyst in Houston to support the Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury group. You will assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and related reports to senior leadership.

Responsibilities include financial modeling, acquisitions/divestitures analyses, preparing executive materials, and coordinating across departments. A 2+ year background in finance/accounting, preferably in oil & gas, and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or similar.
  • 2+ years finance/accounting experience; oil & gas experience preferred.
  • 2+ years analytical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support FP&A and Treasury objectives.
  • Assist with annual budget process, forecast updates, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with acquisitions/divestitures analyses and financial modeling.
  • Prepare executive and board materials.
  • Provide reporting to leadership.
  • Monitor bank accounts, cash receipts/disbursements and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support debt administration and treasury reporting.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure effective cooperation.

Job description

The FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting the company's strategic goals and objectives within the Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury group from our Houston office. The position supports cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, treasury activities, and A&D evaluations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support FP&A and Treasury objectives.
  • Assist with annual budget process, forecast updates, production and capital performance tracking, and variance analysis
  • Assist with acquisition, divestiture, and business development analyses, including financial modeling, valuation support, and presentation materials
  • Prepare executive and board materials.
  • Provide reporting to leadership.
  • Monitor bank accounts, cash receipts/disbursements and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support debt administration, covenant calculations and treasury reporting.
  • Maintain respectful and productive working relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or similar.
  • 2+ years finance/accounting experience. Oil & Gas experience preferred.
  • 2+ years analytical experience.

  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production.
  • Experience with Concur.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Oil & Gas accounting and GAAP principles.

  • Previous experience with variance analysis.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of complex analytical experience in the Oil and Gas industry.

Jonah Energy determines the salary level for potential new employees by considering a candidate's experience, skills, and education, along with the position's work location, external market conditions and internal pay equity.

This position is eligible for a 9/80 hybrid work schedule after 30-days of employment. Work is performed at office on Tuesdays through Thursdays, remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
