Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a finance leader to drive due diligence, pro forma modeling, and strategic financial advisory during Medicaid market expansions. You will serve as interim CFO for new markets during RFPs and help integrate acquisitions with robust ROIC modeling and cross-functional collaboration.

The role involves analyzing investments, budgeting, and navigating regulatory dynamics to keep Humana competitive, while cultivating stakeholder relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for the financial due diligence and financial pro forma modeling input and assessment
• Interim CFO for new markets during RFP process
• Represent Medicaid Finance regarding newly acquired company integration efforts
• Assist with Medicaid Finance's new market RFP response activities
• Responsible for working with Medicaid Actuary in the development of the Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) model
• Analyze the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions
• Conduct financial modeling, reporting, and budgeting
• Apply insight regarding the current Medicaid health care regulatory environment and competitive environment, and how the components of Humana's business model interrelate to make Humana competitive in the marketplace
• Cultivate internal and external business relationships which will be resources of technical knowledge and performance improvement
• Collaborate with corporate HR teams to maintain internal controls on hiring and resource requests for new markets
• Conduct market intelligence by pulling statutory financial statements of competitors

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
• 8 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience, or equivalent
• 2 or more years of project leadership experience
• Experience advising senior leadership on financial strategies
• Experience developing methodologies and criteria to summarize data for complex analyses, including financial modeling and forecasting
• Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reporting
• Experience managing special projects across cross-functional partnerships
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration or a CPA strongly preferred
• Prior health insurance industry experience working in Finance/Accounting

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
