This is a hybrid role (three days per week at our HQ in Chicago, IL) and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Crafty elevates workplace food and beverage programs with enhanced services managed in one innovative, centralized platform. Founded in 2015, our mission is to help companies craft better workplaces. From DraftKings to Robinhood to Zillow, we work with the world’s biggest brands to foster a culture of employee connectivity and productivity.

Our commitment to crafting better workplaces starts from within. We are a team of passionate, resourceful, and hard-working trailblazers who love what we do. Our expertise spans technology, food and beverage operations, client success, fulfillment, and more. At Crafty, our people are our greatest asset, because it's our people who foster a culture that makes our company a place worth being part of.

The Role

Crafty is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts. This role will own and continually update Crafty’s financial models, provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making, and help drive profitability and cash flow improvements. You will report to our CFO and will work closely with cross-functional leaders, providing visibility into business performance and helping guide operational and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Budget Ownership & Management: Lead the annual budgeting process and manage ongoing reforecasts. Collaborate with department heads to align on targets, track performance, and adjust forecasts based on actual results and market trends.
  • Forecasting & Financial Modeling: Maintain and enhance Crafty’s operating models (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow). Build dynamic financial models to support scenario planning, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Partner with Accounting and Operations to deliver accurate 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts. Identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to optimize working capital.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions, including hiring plans, new market expansion, and customer profitability analysis.
  • Cost Optimization Support: Partner with teams to identify and assess cost-saving opportunities, including procurement strategies and logistics optimization.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a finance business partner to cross-functional teams, including the Data Team, Sales, RevOps, Operations, and People. Help them understand financial performance, track goals, and evaluate new initiatives.
  • Process Improvement & Scalability: Continuously assess and improve FP&A processes and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability as Crafty grows.
Required Attributes
  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting Expertise: You have strong financial modeling skills and can confidently build and maintain models that drive accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: You analyze large datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities. You take initiative to solve problems and make recommendations backed by data.
  • Business Acumen: You understand how financial levers impact company performance and can connect the dots between strategy and financial outcomes.
  • Effective Communication: You communicate clearly and concisely, tailoring insights for various audiences. You can present complex financial data in a digestible format to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You build strong relationships across departments and thrive in a team environment. You proactively engage with stakeholders to support business goals.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: You are resourceful and flexible in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You anticipate needs, take ownership, and drive projects to completion.
  • Process Optimization: You continuously seek ways to improve financial processes and tools, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or financial consulting, preferably in a fast-growing or technology-enabled environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling. Experience with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Tableau, or similar BI tools) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Role Goals
  • Deliver Accurate Forecasts: Update and maintain financial models that provide reliable forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Drive Insightful Analysis: Deliver actionable insights through financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Enable Strategic Planning: Support leadership with scenario analysis, investment evaluations, and financial impact assessments for growth initiatives.
  • Streamline FP&A Processes: Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency and scalability of budgeting and forecasting.
