Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a financial support specialist to maintain, calculate, research, and input data for accounting transactions across AP, AR, travel, inventory, and procurement.

You will interpret basic policies and help ensure compliance with GAAP and agency procedures, working with Cardinal and IMS systems. Strong data-entry and analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Verify invoices and reconcile against policies.
• Accounts Receivable: Review and data-entry AR documents.
• Financial Data: Run queries, compare expenditures, maintain reports.
• Inventory Data Processing: Enter receipts and issues into IMS/Cardinal.
• SPCC Direct Charge and Procurement: Prepare requisitions and purchase orders.
• Time and Attendance: Enter time, overtime, leave, and generate reports.
• Travel: Process travel authorizations and reimbursements.
