Job summary

Ocean Spray seeks a Grower Finance – Financial Operations Specialist to support payments, equity transactions, and tax reporting for our grower-owners. This hybrid role is based at our Lakeville, MA headquarters or Seaport Boston with the option for remote Mondays and Fridays.

You will maintain contract financial data, respond to grower-owner inquiries, and assist with governance and compliance. Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience are required, along with strong MS Office

Position Location

We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA or our Seaport Boston, MA location with Mondays and Fridays remote.

Grower Finance – Financial Operations Specialist

The Grower Finance – Financial Operations Specialist supports all aspects of the Grower Finance function including customer service, cash distributions to members and equity issuances and redemptions. The Financial Operations Specialist executes, contributes and/or supports Grower Finance processes including but not limited to payment processing and posting, equity issuance and redemption, tax reporting, contract administration and Cooperative governance. This role interacts with the Agricultural Supply team, our receiving network, the entire Finance team, and Legal. The right individual has the opportunity to grow into a leadership role.

A Day in the Life
  • Supports or executes payment related activities to Ocean Spray’s Grower-Owners.
  • Supports or executes equity transactions for Ocean Spray’s Grower-Owners.
  • Team participation in the preparation, issuance, and transaction reconciliations regarding tax activities, governance activities, payments and equity transactions.
  • Maintain and update information related to the financial aspects of a contract.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate research and response to grower-owner inquiries including requests for financial and equity information.
  • Assists with maintenance of a proprietary software application; identifies necessary updates and performs user acceptance testing.
  • Engage with the Grower community to respond to inquiries, resolve issues and provide education on the cooperative model.
  • Assist with accounting activities within the Grower Finance team, including reconciling cash and equity accounts.
  • Learn and participate in governance and compliance functions.
What We Are Looking For
  • Required Excellent technical skills with strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of, or experience with the scrum process of development a plus.
  • Individual should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills; must have the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization.
  • Must be results oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and translate legal documents into transactional details.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking and time sensitive environment with the ability to prioritize own work within the overall department needs.
  • Dependable, adaptable and a willingness to learn.
  • Display high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Additional experience preferred beyond minimum.
  • Beneficial certifications/application knowledge.

Education: Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)

Work Experience: At least 1 Year of Experience

Annual Salary: $59,700 - $74,600
