Job Title: Financial Operations Coordinator
Department: Engineering | Computer Science and Engineering
Location: Dreese Laboratories (0279)
This position provides fiscal support for Computer Science Engineering (CSE); acts as department initiator and fills other roles when needed for fiscal activities related to procurement, travel, and payroll; responds to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding financial, travel, and purchasing card policies and procedures; serves as Center Procurement Card manager; assists with financial reconciliation; prepares deposits; assembles, maintains, and organizes files for financial transactions and records retention; assists with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements for internal funds and external grants; monitors fiscal activities and transactions from start to finish and follows up appropriately; reviews all center balances to help determine salary appointments, partners with Finance Manager to process costing allocation changes, and sponsored cost share; ensures all supporting documentation conforms to University guidelines; as directed by the College of Engineering internal control structure, ensures segregation of duties in the processing of every transaction, appropriate mandatory approvals and reconciliation; works with the College Business Operations Center (BOC) to ensure efficient processing of travel and procurement transactions; provides a high level of customer service to employees and visitors, to ensure requests are completed timely, efficient, accurate and in compliance; may perform or support office management duties including building access, inventory, front desk management, and other general facility operational tasks, as needed. Works with CSE Space Committee, Department Chair and Faculty supervisors in the coordination and assignment of space. This position may supervise up to three undergraduate employees.
Required: High school Diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience
Effective interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Knowledge of university business organization, policies, and procedures
Desired: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. Experience with grants and university financial reporting systems. Excellent customer service experience. Experience in MS Office, including Word and Excel. Student supervisor experience.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $18.37 - $23.99/hr, paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
