Jefferson County Public Works Financial Manager

Jefferson County Public Works is seeking a Financial Manager to oversee the department’s financial operations, including complex accounting, budgeting, payroll, and cost accounting systems. The successful candidate will lead the Finance Department staff in day-to-day operations and collaborate closely with the Public Works Director, County Engineer, and division managers on annual budgets and reports, project accounting, and grant management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in accounting
• or associate degree (AA) and two years experience
• or eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience, supplemented by coursework in accounting.
• All applicants must have a minimum of five years progressively responsible accounting with at least one year supervisory experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation

This is a full-time, FLSA exempt, in-person position. Salary grade is MGR 19, with a 2026 salary range of $7,871.58-$9,681.05 monthly, DOE. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision, 11 paid state-recognized holidays, three floating holidays, PTO, bereavement leave, with Washington State DRS retirement.
