ABOUT THE POSITION

Financial Engineer-Kiwi Partners

The Financial Engineer partners with clients to understand their financial processes, identify opportunities for improvements, and implement solutions.

Technical Responsibilities
  1. Research and analyze data for detailed reports and interpret results to help the team make strategic decisions.
  2. Train client employees and Kiwi staff on use, functionality, system, workflow, reporting & dashboarding and interface.
  3. Assist Lead Financial Engineers in system implementations, including but not limited to: Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.
  4. Support in process walkthroughs, documenting accounting procedures and processes to provide a tool for analysis and inclusion in manuals.
  5. Manage process of mapping a chart of accounts and financial dimensions from old legacy system to new, configuring accounting applications to client requirements.
  6. Develop a metrics dashboard to monitor strategic measures, metrics & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  7. Assist in the review of timesheet and procurement processes.
  8. Support in annual cash flow forecasting models.
  9. Evaluate accounting tasks and assist on recommendations for month-end closing processes.
  10. Research, test, and perform proof of concepts on recommended applications.
  11. Assist in the development of a workforce needs-assessment.
  12. Collaborate directly with Project Managers on various tasks analysis, track budget vs. actuals, project timeline, weekly status memos, etc.
Client Management Responsibilities
  1. Understanding client expectations as discussed and quantified in the client engagement meeting.
  2. Providing high quality deliverables on a timely basis and in compliance with Kiwi’s Quality Management System.
  3. Following Kiwi Partners Communications Policy, communicate proactively with Manager and/or client to establish strong trust and prevent potential conflicts/problems.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  1. 2 - 4 years of progressive accounting and/or consulting experience.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly:
  • Excel
  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • PowerBI
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • Planner
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet.
  • Knowledgeable of principles and practices of accounting systems, internal controls, and implementing control improvements.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Working in multiple work environments.
    • Balancing the needs of several clients.
    • Working independently as well as collaboratively.
    Other Highly Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
    1. Prior experience in small non-profits, startup, or unstructured environment.
    2. QBO, Sage Intacct, Bill.com or Expensify Accounting or Implementation certification.
    3. 1 – 2 years of Sage Intacct Implementation Specialist experience.

    This position is open to candidates who wish to be based out of our office locations in New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Durham, and San Francisco. We are also open to permanently remote workers based in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
