AmeriHome Mortgage Corporation in Westlake Village, CA, is seeking a Financial Engineer to join the Capital Markets Analytics team. You will build and maintain advanced financial models and analytics to support MSR and hedging activities, collaborating with the trading desk and hedging team.

The role requires 1+ years of experience, a related bachelor's degree (masters/MBA preferred), and strong skills in C#, SQL Server, Excel, VBA, Power BI, and Python/R for statistical analysis.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience in financial analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters or MBA preferred.
• Familiarity with residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending.
• Proficient with C#, SQL Server, Excel, Excel VBA, PowerBI.
• Experience with R or Python for statistical analysis.
• Strong communication skills (spoken and written).

• Create, maintain and deliver quantitative processes including data mining and predictive modeling.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration for Capital Markets Analytics, MSR, EBO, Servicing.
• Maintain and enhance financial models including prepayment, mortgage rate, delinquency and other models.
• Create and deliver monthly and quarterly analytical reports including valuation, risk, stress testing and model updates.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve scalability, accuracy and efficiency.

What You'll Do

As a Financial Engineer, you’ll be part of the Capital Market's Analytics team that focuses on building, maintaining, and enhancing advanced models and analytics tools to support Secondary Marketing MSR position. You and your team will work closely with the firm’s trading desk and hedging team, and you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the firm’s core financial models and providing data analytical support for trading and hedging.

• Create, maintain and deliver quantitative processes including data mining, predictive modeling, and other complex data processing.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms, databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration processes to support Capital Markets Analytics, MSR, Early Buyout (EBO), and Servicing business functions.
• Maintain, enhance existing financial models including prepayment, mortgage rate, delinquency, etc. and develop new models/algorithms when needed.
• Create, maintain, deliver monthly and quarterly analytical reports including valuation, risk, stress testing and model update.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance scalability, accuracy, and efficiency.

What You'll Need

• 1+ years of related experience.

• Entry level knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending including; sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
• Entry level knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with C#, SQL Server, Excel and Excel VBA, PowerBI.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with statistical analysis, including the use of tools like R or Python.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $107,395.00 - $132,661.00 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned.
