Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, determining optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and calculate financial improvements resulting from those actions. Our team operates in a fast-paced environment, utilizing cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision making organization-wide.

REMOTE work from HOME

Essential Functions

1. Actively seek out new areas of potential improvement, drill into details to find root causes, question assumptions, and drive continuous improvement.
2. Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model potential impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to measure progress, and report savings to senior leadership.
3. Mine data using SQL to discover trends, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
4. Create automated reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
5. Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data processing and storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills And Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and understanding of how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for discovering solutions in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make and communicate recommendations to senior management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.

Compensation Information
