Job summary

Hirsh Industries, a West Des Moines, IA-based manufacturer, seeks a Financial & Data Analyst to partner with the CFO and executive team on cost, pricing, budgeting, and market strategy. You will help automate AI-powered reporting to accelerate decision-making and tie numbers to factory-floor outcomes.

You’ll own product cost models, time-driven costing, and cost-to-profit analyses while building KPI dashboards for leadership review across finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
• 0–4 years of professional experience (internships, Co-ops, and projects count).
• Coursework or experience in managerial or cost accounting; distinguish reporting results from explaining them.
• Strong Excel modeling skills and comfort with large, imperfect datasets.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and analytics tools and practical use cases.

Responsibilities

• Explain what drives profit by building revenue bridges and performing variance analyses.
• Build product cost models and time-driven activity-based costing to understand profitability.
• Model pricing impact and support pricing decisions for the commercial team.
• Support the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and scenario models with documented assumptions.
• Research market size, customer segments, and competitors to inform strategy and growth.
• Partner with the supply chain on analytics such as inventory, service levels, and freight.
• Automate recurring reports into AI-assisted, secure reporting to save time.
