About the Role

We’re seeking a Financial Crimes & Compliance Program Manager to lead and evolve our fraud, AML, and compliance program infrastructure. This role blends regulatory compliance expertise with strategic fraud prevention, and is critical to safeguarding Finfare’s operations and customers. You’ll build and oversee key risk frameworks, drive cross-functional compliance alignment, and ensure adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory obligations.

You should bring deep experience in BSA/AML and fraud programs, particularly in fintech or banking environments, and the ability to scale systems, processes, and teams from the ground up. Please note this is a fully on-site role based in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve Finfare Financial’s BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and broader regulatory compliance programs
  • Build and manage an enterprise Fraud & Financial Crimes Prevention Program: onboarding fraud, synthetic ID detection, transaction abuse, account takeovers, and internal risk mitigation
  • Lead transaction monitoring and case management systems, ensuring compliance with internal and partner-bank policies
  • Serve as Finfare Financial’s compliance program lead, coordinating audits, internal reviews, and partner-bank exams, and managing any findings and remediations.
  • Design and deliver company-wide training on fraud trends, BSA/AML compliance, and red flag identification.
  • Perform case reviews and due diligence for SARs, EDDs, KYC escalations, and fraud investigations.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk, and Product teams to align compliance requirements with operational design.
  • Interface with Finfare Financial’s banking and processing partners regarding watchlist alerts, high-risk activities, and escalation protocols.
  • Own and deliver compliance reporting, risk trend analysis, and internal dashboards
  • Act as subject matter expert and key advisor to leadership on evolving fraud/compliance landscapes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within fraud, AML, or regulatory compliance programs
  • Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions screening, and fraud prevention best practices
  • Prior experience implementing or scaling a compliance or risk function, ideally at a fintech, neobank, or payments platform
  • Experience working with partner banks, regulators, or external auditors
  • Strong people management, process ownership, and cross-functional communication skills
  • CAMS, CFE, or CRCM certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Criminal Justice, Finance, or related field a plus)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess, prioritize, and resolve issues dynamically.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, capable of shifting focus between multiple responsibilities without losing efficiency.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and high service standards under pressure.;

Bonus Points

  • Experience in fintech or startups, particularly in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
  • Prior experience handling chargebacks, disputes, or transaction monitoring within a financial services setting.
  • Law enforcement or formal investigative experience
    Experience managing regulatory exams, especially in a sponsor bank model
    Familiarity with tools like Alloy, Sardine, Taktile.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $140K-$180K (depending on experience).
