Bronson Healthcare is seeking a Financial Counselor to assist patients with funding applications, review financial options, and manage pre-admission financial counseling and post-discharge accounts. The counselor will interact with patients, guarantors, and third-party payers, providing education on funding sources and payment plans while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial counseling, pre-admission or patient financial services in a hospital/clinic setting preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance programs and government funding (Medicaid, Medicare, etc.).
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients/guarantors to assist with funding applications (Charity Care, Medicaid, etc.).
• Perform cashiering and patient accounting duties; collect patient liabilities and provide receipts.
• Explain funding options and review/establish payment plans; document all encounters in the patient accounting system.
