Job summary

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor to support patient accounts and payment arrangements. The role focuses on delinquency management, insurance verification, and accurate financial counseling to ensure timely payments.

Qualifications include 1-2 years in finance or as a Financial Counselor, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screens. 21+ years old recommended.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Financial Counselor or in finance for 1-2 years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review past due accounts and determine delinquency actions.
• Investigate delinquency cases to identify special payment circumstances.
• Contact third party payer organizations and/or patients to facilitate timely payments.
• Complete financial counseling with patients to verify demographics/insurance and arrange payment plans.
• Identify delinquency issues and recommend their disposition (collections, write-off, or other action).
• Prepare and maintain records documenting past due accounts and their disposition.
• Insurance Verification.
