Job summary

Gundersen Health System and Emplify Health are seeking a dedicated Financial Counselor to help self-pay patients navigate bills and arrange payment plans at our on-site Wisconsin facilities in La Crosse.

You will estimate financial obligations, collect payments, assist with pre-registration for specific patient groups, and audit guarantor accounts to resolve billing issues, with a starting wage of about $19/hour and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• 1 year work experience in medical facility, insurance, or office.
• Strong communication, computer, and organization skills.

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Counselor to join our team, providing essential support in managing financial obligations for self-pay patients and those with outstanding balances after insurance. In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison, estimating financial liabilities, collecting payments, and facilitating pre-registration for specific patient populations. You will work closely with patients to identify and secure appropriate financial assistance while conducting thorough audits of guarantor accounts to resolve billing issues. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring a seamless financial experience for our patients.

What's Available:

Full-time : 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm

Fully on-site position

What You'll Need:
