Job summary

Nomura's Finance Control team in the Americas seeks an Analyst to focus on the monthly close, quarterly reporting and annual financial statements for the investment management business. The role requires a detail-oriented mindset and solid understanding of US GAAP, working in a high-volume, results-driven environment.

We value candidates with 1–3 years in accounting/finance, a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from accredited college/university.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Advanced in MS Office particularly in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Support external audits
• Assist with preparing annual financial statements
• Analyze variances and identifying discrepancies
• Investigate and resolving accounting issues independently
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and projects
