Job summary

Leeds Professional Resources is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting function and partner with the CFO in shaping growth-ready finance systems. The role involves managing close processes, policy improvements, and a NetSuite rollout to modernize reporting.

You will guide a four-person team, drive budgeting accuracy, and ensure robust internal controls while collaborating with external advisors on audits and tax filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• Demonstrated responsibility for financial reporting, close, general ledger accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience improving accounting processes and leading a team through change.
• CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.
• Experience managing audits and coordinating tax compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, the general ledger, reconciliations, and close.
• Review results against budgets and forecasts; analyze variances, margins, and cash flow for senior leadership.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, approval processes, and documentation.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and cash forecasts.
• Coordinate audits and work with external advisors on applicable tax and statutory filings.
• Lead and develop four direct reports.
• Lead the NetSuite implementation and improve accounting workflows and reporting.
