Position Summary

MVP is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Controller to lead accounting operations, oversee financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in accounting and compliance, coupled with hands-on experience implementing and optimizing ERP and financial systems. The Controller will be instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures in compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS
• Drive the implementation and optimization of a new financial/ERP system
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and DCAA reporting requirements
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership
• Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and financial institutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Proven experience with ERP implementation or system migration
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, CAS, and government contract accounting
• Experience working with DCAA/DCMA auditors and preparing audit responses
• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
• Exceptional project management, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Successful ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Deltek, JAMIS)
• Experience in a high-growth or fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• In-depth experience with DCAA compliance and government cost accounting
