As a key member of the Finance leadership team, the Controller will lead daily accounting operations, oversee payroll for more than 1,000 associates, develop the accounting team, and provide meaningful financial insight to resort leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Financial Reporting & Close – Produce accurate monthly and annual financial statements, oversee the general ledger and closing processes, reconcile balance-sheet accounts, and provide meaningful variance analysis.

  • Accounting Operations – Direct the day-to-day work of accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, night audit, payroll, and management reporting.

  • Controls & Compliance – Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls; review journal entries and support internal and external audits.

  • Process Improvement – Evaluate recurring accounting procedures, identify control and efficiency opportunities, and implement scalable process and system improvements.

  • Resort Leadership – Participate in Daily Promise meetings, department meetings, resort events, and special projects as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A four-year college degree, preferably in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five to ten years of progressively responsible Finance or Accounting experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP; hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong financial acumen, including financial-statement preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and interpretation.

  • Experience leading accounting operations and developing Finance or Accounting professionals.

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and levels of leadership.

  • A hands-on, team-oriented leadership style and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Experience with Office 365 and accounting and payroll systems.

  • Sound judgment, high ethical standards, and the ability to protect confidential information.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced resort environment and remain flexible regarding schedules, weekends, and holidays.

  • The ability to move throughout a large resort and meet the physical requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals.
