Job summary

Stillwater Hospitality in Park City, UT, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations across our growing portfolio of properties and venues. You will own planning, reporting, cash management, and systems, partnering with senior leadership to drive growth and accountability.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10+ years in finance leadership, strong expertise in vacation rental accounting, owner statements, and multi-property revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in finance leadership as a Controller or similar role across multiple properties.
• Vacation rental or short-term rental finance/accounting experience required; hospitality a plus.
• Strong knowledge of owner statements, distributions, and multi-property revenue recognition.
• Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning.
• Solid accounting operations experience: AP/AR, tax, controls, audit readiness.
• Experience supporting investor reporting or board communications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual planning, budgeting, rolling forecasts and financial strategies across properties.
• Deliver monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analyses for decision making.
• Build forecasting models and unit economics to support growth decisions.
• Establish financial metrics and accountability across the organization.

• Design scalable finance systems, reporting tools, and processes.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations and infrastructure supporting Stillwater Hospitality’s growing portfolio of properties and venues. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can move seamlessly between financial strategy and day-to-day execution. You’ll own financial planning, reporting, accounting operations, cash management, and financial systems while serving as a key partner to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead annual planning, budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial strategies across all properties and venues.
• Deliver accurate, decision-ready monthly financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis, and property-level performance.
• Build forecasting, scenario-planning, and unit economics models to support business decisions and growth.
• Establish clear financial accountability and performance metrics across the organization.

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Lead accounting operations, including bookkeeper oversight, AP/AR, approval workflows, expense policies, tax compliance, and audit readiness.
• Manage vacation rental accounting, including owner statements and distributions, trust accounting, and revenue recognition across multiple properties and management agreements.
• Oversee payroll and benefits and serve as the liaison for employment-related matters.
• Design and implement scalable accounting and finance systems, reporting tools, and processes.

Cash Flow & Profitability

• Manage cash flow, working capital, vendor payments, and capital allocation across entities and properties.
• Analyze property, venue, channel, and customer profitability to identify opportunities for improved margins and operating efficiency.
• Establish scalable cost controls and ROI-driven decision-making standards.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reduce unnecessary OPEX, and improve operating leverage without compromising the Stillwater experience.

Strategic & Leadership Partnership

• Serve as a core member of the senior leadership team, providing financial insight to guide company strategy and growth.
• Partner with Operations, Guest Experience, and Marketing to align financial planning with business priorities.
• Lead financial modeling and readiness for new properties, venues, services, and other strategic initiatives.
• Support investor reporting, board updates, capital strategy, and financial readiness for future funding.
• Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the CEO.

What You Bring

• 7-10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar role, ideally across multiple properties or business units.
• Required experience in vacation rental or short-term rental finance/accounting; broader hospitality experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of owner statements and distributions, trust accounting, and multi-property revenue recognition.
• Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario-planning skills.
• Strong accounting operations experience, including AP/AR, tax compliance, controls, and audit readiness.
• Experience supporting investor reporting, board communications, or capital raises is a plus.
• High proficiency with accounting and financial systems, including experience evaluating and implementing scalable tools and processes.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard for financial accuracy and accountability.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, growing organization.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across executive leadership, operations, and external stakeholders.
