Job summary

Blayze Group, a growing residential homebuilder in Central Texas, seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and construction-related financial management. You will partner with the CFO and executive team to strengthen processes, manage cash flow, and support growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction/real estate, expertise in WIP and job costing, and CPA credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA qualification is a plus and Sage Intacct experience is advantageous.
• Experience in controller/leadership roles in construction or real estate preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage construction accounting: WIP, job costing, inventory, project profitability.
• Oversee construction loan draws and land development financing support.
• Monitor cash flow, debt obligations, and lender reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls; support audits.
• Lead accounting team and collaborate with CFO and executives.

Job description

We are partnering with an established and growing residential homebuilder in Central Texas seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and construction-related financial management.

This is a key leadership role working closely with the CFO and executive team to strengthen financial processes, manage cash flow, and support the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly financial close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage construction accounting, including WIP, job costing, inventory, and project profitability.
• Oversee weekly construction loan draws and support land development financing.
• Monitor cash flow, debt obligations, borrowing capacity, and lender reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Partner with construction and operational leadership to track financial performance and project costs.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while improving financial processes and reporting.
• Support the CFO with financial analysis, strategic planning, and business decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong background in residential homebuilding, construction, or real estate development.
• Experience with construction accounting, job costing, WIP, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of construction financing, loan draws, and cash flow management.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial controls.
• Experience managing accounting teams and working alongside senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA qualification and Sage Intacct experience are advantageous.
