Job summary

The Quail in Carmel Valley, California invites a Financial Controller to oversee day-to-day operations and provide expert guidance on all financial matters for our hospitality team. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, forecast and budget cycles, deliver insights to operational leaders, support capital budgeting, and develop the Finance team.

Required: 8-10 years hospitality finance experience, CPA preferred, multi-outlet operations, inventory-intensive environments; salary

Qualifications

• 8-10 years hospitality finance experience including team leadership.
• Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Strong technical accounting, controls, and forecasting capability.
• Proven experience with multi-outlet operations and inventory-intensive environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with standards and audit protocols.
• Direct forecasting and budgeting cycle, driving accuracy and analytics for department forecasts.
• Deliver actionable insights, dashboards, and KPIs to operational leaders for data-driven decisions.
• Support long-term financial planning, investments, and capital budgeting for sustainable growth.
• Direct, coach, and develop the Finance team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Cost Control, and more.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in full compliance with HSH standards, regulatory requirements, and audit protocols.
• Direct the entire forecasting and budgeting cycle, driving greater accuracy, robust analytics, and stronger business ownership of departmental forecasts in alignment with Quail's strategic and financial plans; including Hotel Operations, Golf course (Club Operations) and Automotive Events.
• Deliver actionable insights, dashboards, and KPIs to operational leaders to enable data-driven decision-making and enhance understanding of profitability drivers.
• Support long-term financial planning, investment decisions, and capital budgeting, providing financial stewardship that enables sustainable growth and operational excellence.
• Direct, coach, and develop the Finance team———including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Cost Control, and all transactional finance functions to ensure high performance and accountability.

General Requirements

• 8-10 years of hospitality finance experience, including team leadership.
• Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Strong technical accounting, controls, and forecasting capability.
• Proven experience with multi-outlet operations and inventory-intensive environments.

Salary: $140,000-$160,000 per year + Bonus
