What You Will Do

The Retirement Consultant delivers personalized consultations detailing solutions best suited to the retirement planning needs of Empower customers. The Consultant utilizes detailed information on IRA and investment products and has a solid understanding of the qualified plan environment. The successful Consultant enjoys assisting customers achieve their retirement goals, is a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and has a competitive personality. Must be upbeat, ambitious and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include both inbound and outbound calls and require outstanding follow-through with those they are assisting.

  • Cultivates relationships with customers by delivering personalized service and responds to a variety of plan and policy-related questions by exhibiting listening, patience, empathy, authenticity, proactivity, and perseverance with external and internal customers.
  • Assist the customer by retaining current assets through education on available plan specifics and general distribution options.
  • Engages in a dialogue which educates customers in making informed distribution decisions and the advantages of participation in a company sponsored retirement plan or an individual retirement account versus the tax implications of taking receipt of the proceeds from their retirement accounts.
  • Works with active and terminated participants of employer-sponsored plans to provide service, support recommendations on variety of needs including distribution and rollover options, consolidation, investment conversations, savings, and contributions strategies, and more.
  • Manages inbound conversations, makes outbound calls, handles service requests, researches, and attempts to resolve issues, develops and implements strategies discussed to assist the customer with achieving their retirement goals.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
  • Demonstrated success in performance/goal-oriented roles, ideally in asset growth and retention.
  • Current FINRA licenses and/or ability to successfully obtain FINRA 7 & 63 registrations within corporate-established timelines and complete FINRA fingerprinting upon hire.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn new information quickly and independently.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and ability to handle stressful situations and people daily.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Good understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services and the qualified retirement plan environment
  • Sound written, verbal and presentation skills, identifies and solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and various file manipulation skills on a PC.
  • Ability to quickly learn Empower's record keeping system, SalesForce software.
  • Solid consulting skills.

This position can be done remotely.

Base Salary Range

$52,000.00 - $64,000.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
