Financial Close Manager – Journal Entry SME

Title: Financial Close Manager – Journal Entry SME

Position Type: Full Time – W2 Employee

Location: Remote (may require some travel)

Overview:

The Financial Close Manager should have a strong background in transforming and automating close processes through process and technology implementations, including BlackLine and/or similar software, with a focused skillset in Journal Entry automation. They will be a strategic team member supporting key programs and will partner closely with FCM Directors, Solutions Consultants, and other FCM Managers to deliver comprehensive client solutions focusing on:

• Journal Entry Template Build and Execution
• Data Source Identification and Harmonization
• Validation, Dependent Validation, and other Journal Entry Automation
• Automated Journal Creation
• Integration Support
• Close Solution Execution and Management
• Project/Program Management

Responsibilities:

The FCM Manager oversees the technical and process components of implementations and supports best practices in critical close areas, especially in Journal Entries. They should understand leading practices for account reconciliations, transaction matching, and journal entries, assessing current processes and recommending improvements and automation solutions. Key tasks include:

• Partner with the broader FCM team to deliver technical implementations (BlackLine or other solutions) as standalone projects or part of larger transformation programs.
• Collaborate with Operations & Quality leadership to align strategies and lead intercompany transformation efforts.
• Serve as the lead contact for BlackLine enterprise implementations, supporting planning and delivery of program management services.
• Enhance and execute Financial Close Transformation Delivery processes.
• Lead initiatives to standardize and automate key close processes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience leading BlackLine, OneStream, Trintech, or similar solution implementations.
• 5+ years of customer-facing experience.
• Deep knowledge of BlackLine solutions, including reconciliations, transaction matching, and journal entries.
• Experience in project and change management related to financial reconciliation systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strategic and consultative mindset with process optimization expertise.
