What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Prepare and maintain payroll and agency accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining contracts
- Review and post employee timecards and timesheets, calculating hours worked for payroll processing
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets, maintaining agency bookkeeping records
- Balance and reconcile accounts, processing retroactive payments and adjustments as needed
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll practices and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Two (2) years of clerical experience in accounting, financial record keeping, or bookkeeping
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounting, and financial record-keeping procedures
- Ability to perform general clerical tasks and handle large amounts of money
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in performing arithmetical computations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience compiling and analyzing payroll data and preparing payroll reports
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience using electronic payroll processing systems such as Core-CT, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks
- Proven ability to balance and reconcile accounts
- Experience communicating effectively in a customer service environment
