What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Prepare and maintain payroll and agency accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining contracts
  • Review and post employee timecards and timesheets, calculating hours worked for payroll processing
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets, maintaining agency bookkeeping records
  • Balance and reconcile accounts, processing retroactive payments and adjustments as needed
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll practices and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience in accounting, financial record keeping, or bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounting, and financial record-keeping procedures
  • Ability to perform general clerical tasks and handle large amounts of money
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in performing arithmetical computations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience compiling and analyzing payroll data and preparing payroll reports
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience using electronic payroll processing systems such as Core-CT, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks
  • Proven ability to balance and reconcile accounts
  • Experience communicating effectively in a customer service environment
