Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with Siemens MRI equipment, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. The role involves patient preparation, positioning, and coordination with radiology staff in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include operating MRI systems, processing images, and maintaining patient records across HIS/RIS/PACS with attention to accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • ARRT(R) registration in Radiology is required.
  • ARRT(MR) registration in MRI is required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification for Health Care Providers; if not current, will need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Siemens MRI experience is preferred.

  • Deliver excellent patient care by demonstrating compassion, explaining procedures to patients, providing patient comfort, and completing exams in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patients for imaging exams by reviewing orders, confirming exam type, assessing needs, and educating patients.
  • Operate imaging equipment competently, perform data acquisition, image manipulation and reconstruction, and ensure quality control for optimal images.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in HIS/RIS, PACS and department systems.

Job description

Summary

Successfully meets the needs of patients and families by delivering excellent patient care, performing diagnostic MRI imaging of designated anatomical areas in a compassionate and safe manner and in accordance with established practices and procedures. Performs basic and advanced protocols and uses/manipulates hardware and technical parameters to maximize Magnetic Resonance image quality and acquire images. Prepares and maintains records and files. May perform other radiology procedures as needed.

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $41.06-57.96. This range reflects the base pay for this position.

A starting wage floor of $44.92 per hour is currently in effect for this position. This rate reflects our current compensation practices and may be adjusted in the future in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Key Accountabilities
  • Deliver excellent patient care by demonstrating compassion, thoroughly explaining procedures to patients, providing patient comfort, answering patient questions and completing exams in a timely manner
  • Prepare patient for Imaging exams by reviewing provider orders and notes, confirming correct exam to be performed, accurately assessing patient’s needs, positioning patient appropriately for exam and providing patient education
  • Perform quality exams by operating applicable Imaging equipment competently, including data acquisition, image manipulation and reconstruction, and quality control measures to ensure optimal quality diagnostic images and monitoring patient throughout the exam
  • Maintain accurate patient records by completing correct and timely entries in all electronic health systems (i.e. HIS/RIS, PHA, PACS) and department specific programs

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for Health Care Providers (if not current, will need to be obtained in the first 6 months of employment, company paid)
  • Siemens MRI experience, preferred
Schedule
  • 80 hours per two-week pay period
  • Shift: 1:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.; days negotiable and coordinated with the department upon hire
