Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a hospital, medical office, or insurance company.
  • Knowledge of insurance eligibility and financial clearance processes.

Description

Summary:
Financial Clearance Specialist performs all necessary front-end revenue cycle functions prior to service to ensure timely financial clearance for patient accounts.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required. Associate degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Two (2) or more years of equivalent work experience in a hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, medical terminology, and abbreviations.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of insurance eligibility, financial clearance, and insurance authorization. Prior experience with EPIC EMR preferred.
