Overview

The Financial Claims Analyst Representative is responsible for claims payment issues related to cash adjustments within our operations and financial systems.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in claims processing and procedures.
  • Experience with Independent Health claims processing, current operating systems, CPT and IDC-9 coding, and billing knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly.
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills for reviewing healthcare benefit payments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC and Windows; familiarity with Siebel and Maccess is a plus.

Essential Accountabilities

Technical Proficiency:

  • Log, research, adjust, reprocess, and record all voids and cash adjustments accurately and timely in operations and financial systems. Coordinate with providers and internal departments as needed. Ensure all received refund cash is accounted for monthly.
  • Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures regularly, staying current with workflow changes.

Communication:

  • Summarize monthly activities for review by accounting, COB, and internal operations. Suggest improvements based on findings.

Review:

  • Validate invoices from third-party collection agencies for workers' compensation cases. Review claims requesting reimbursement and notify departments of necessary adjustments.

Team Building:

  • Assist in cross-training team members on cash adjustments.
  • Support accounts receivable to expedite collections when needed.

Hiring Range: $20.00 - $23.00 hourly

Compensation varies based on skills, education, location, and experience.

Additional benefits include potential incentive scorecards, comprehensive benefits, and generous paid time off. Salary ranges may change.
