Overview

We're looking for a passionate Full-Time Financial Case Manager in our Upper Marlboro facility.

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (Not a Remote Position)

Pay Range
Responsibilities

The Financial Case Manager plays a multifaceted role, supporting clients comprehensively. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with State and Federal guidelines, conducting weekly discharge needs assessments, developing personalized aftercare plans, scheduling ongoing care appointments, and coordinating care with referents and payors. The role involves collaborating with the treatment team to align aftercare plans and assisting clients with employer and legal concerns. Additionally, the Financial Case Manager works closely with Facility Leadership to provide timely financial assistance, address insurance inquiries, and collect Copays/Deductibles as directed by the Admission Department.

The role involves working effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure operational success, including:

CORE JOB DUTIES:

  1. Maintain open communication and collaboration with the treatment team to address aftercare and discharge planning needs.
  2. Develop individualized aftercare appointments in collaboration with patients.
  3. Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled within 7 days post-discharge with a behavioral health provider.
  4. For patients on MAT, ensure follow-up with a MAT provider after discharge.
  5. Coordinate with referents and payors to meet continued care needs.
  6. Collect Co-pays, Deductibles, and private pay fees within 24 hours of admission.
  7. Assist patients with employer and legal concerns to keep them focused on treatment.
  8. Conduct weekly discharge needs assessments and develop tailored aftercare plans.
  9. Validate patients' benefits and financial responsibilities using online applications like InstaMed, Navient, and Availity.
  10. Follow procedures for collecting patient responsibilities.
  11. Understand collection policies related to Co-pays, Insurance Deductibles, payment plans, and private pay payments.
  12. Assist with COBRA elections and confirm payments.
  13. Collaborate with the Admission Team to resolve financial issues and collect owed funds.
  14. Ensure clients sign necessary consents and complete the first CMDP within 72 hours of admission.
  15. Facilitate the completion of an "Advance Repayment Agreement" for uncollectable Co-pays or Deductibles.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field, Finance/Accounting, or Medical Management office experience preferred. Minimum high school diploma required.
  • At least one to two years’ experience, preferably in medical, behavioral healthcare, or financial fields.
  • Knowledge of community resources and proficiency in discussing and resolving financial issues and policies.
